Radishes from the Rockport School Garden

Ever since I read Grace from the Garden by Debra Landwehr Engle and The Edible Schoolyard by Alice Walters, I have been dreaming about the Rockport School having a school garden.  (See The Edible Schoolyard website for more wonderful information and inspiration.)

This year that dream came true!

Rockport School Garden - Just planted

This is an early shot of the garden back in June. Today it is all filled in and I was able to harvest the radishes. Yum!

It has been such a joy to watch the garden grow, as well as see all the volunteers in the school community pull together to take care of it.

I am so proud of the Rockport Public Schools. Each day brings something new and positive. I look forward to another great year of promise and growth.
