Mystery Book Review

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

Every once in a while I have to stretch beyond my comfort zone and read a murder mystery novel. And I picked a wicked good one this time.

Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn was a read I could not put down. It brought me  into a world that I just barely knew existed. The main character is so likable although she is so reckless to herself, and still I loved her. As I read on, the book revealed, ever so slowly, the details of her childhood and just why she is the way she is.

The murders of two young girls is the center on which the story is written, however, there is so much more to it. I was stumped till the end of the book. Just don’t be tempted to read the last chapter, you will be sorry you missed the whole story.

I highly recommend Sharp Objects. You can read more about Gillian Flynn and her writing at her website here.

Happy Wednesday to all, Get some sunshine, I am off to get my dose of Vitamin D3 at Sunbanque. XO Lisa

Have you ever read any of the feminist murder mysteries by
Carolyn Heilbrun.. the late professor emeritus of English at Columbia.. huge important feminist.. ??

She kept her authorship a secret for decades.. as the
mystery series became very popular.. Feared her tenure might be affected?? !!!!
    Kate Fansler mysteries
